When she graduated in 1992 Amanda Bossard began her studies in marine biology in Anchorage at Alaska Pacific University. Bossard started her commercial seafood career in 1999, when she started working aboard the vessel F/V Sunset. This 65' schooner that was converted into the role of a salmon tender is operated by Murat Aritan. He has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard has married Aritan. They have now come together and have claimed their respective fields. They are both proponents of preserving sustainable and renewable seafood resources. In 2007, now a mother of two children Bella age 3 and Andre 1 Bossard before returning to her home in Philadelphia established a direct market wholesale seafood distributor called Otolith.
